About
Small business owners are some of the most creative people I know. You're solving impossible problems with limited resources, holding communities together, and somehow still showing up every day. I see it up close—on a good day, I'm inside 2 or 3 different businesses helping owners make sense of their numbers, fix what's broken, and figure out what's next.
I'm Tanisha, and I run Daybook Company. I help small businesses get out of the weeds by building custom tools and reporting systems that turn messy data into clear decisions and impact. Real-time dashboards. Financial visibility. Automated workflows. The kinds of tools that big companies take for granted, made practical for a business like yours.
I come to this work through a winding path. I spent six years as a full-stack software engineer at GoDaddy, building products for small and medium-sized businesses. Before that, I did photography, sales, and a short stint in social work. For three years, I co-owned and operated Dorothea Coffee, a small roastery where I learned firsthand what it's like to work full-time while running a business on the side. Mistakes were made. Burnout is an understatement. But the learning was crucial.
These days, I get to take everything I've learned—the technical skills, the entrepreneurial experience, my well-seasoned beginner mind—and use it to make meaningful change inside small businesses. I work with coffee shops, restaurants, breweries, studios, and creative businesses in Seattle and beyond. I also partner with financial institutions and business development organizations that want to bring better tools and support to the businesses they serve.
While I work with all kinds of businesses, my mission is to reach underestimated business owners and help them move from survival mode to strategic growth. Small businesses are the backbone of our communities. When they succeed, we all succeed. My work makes sure they have access to the same tools and support that larger businesses rely on.
If I'm being honest, I'm a little uncomfortable on the internet and with marketing. But I'm here because this work matters to me, and because I believe in being in conversation with the people I serve.
If you're curious about working together, let's talk.
