Lower the Bar
It's been about a year since I sent anything out on Substack. I had big goals of publishing regularly, but something about the platform kept getting in my way. I think it was the formality of it. Knowing that whatever I wrote would land in someone's inbox. Most email is noise, so the bar felt high.
I didn't stop writing. I just stopped hitting send.
I'm trying something different. I want to work in public, reflect, and share when it's relevant. To do that, I moved my newsletter to my website. That small shift changes the whole dynamic. It's lower stakes. It's mine. I can send a quick entry when I have something to say. A record, not a performance.
This is a work in progress. There's no grand strategy. I just know that the old setup created friction and this one has less of it. I'll keep refining as I go.
More soon.
